DORIS LEA COMPTON Thursday, June 26, 1930 - Friday, August 4, 2017

Doris Compton, 87, passed away on Friday , August 4. She was born on June 26, 1930, to Carl and Lola Roy in Stone County, Missouri. Doris lived a fulfilling life with her husband of almost 70 years and her family. In her early years, she worked at a garment factory and a cold storage plant in Marionville, MO. She later worked in the healthcare profession. She could also be counted on to rake hay while canning garden produce, raising three kids and many grandchildren. Upon retirement, she and Floyd moved to Springfield and enjoyed traveling and family.
She is survived by her son Ronald D. Compton (Carol Scheetz) of Topeka, Kansas, and daughters Connie Compton (Dave Camey) of Springfield, Missouri, and Ann Rauch (Bill) of Billings, Missouri. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Compton, who passed on June 3 of this year.
Visitation and funeral for Doris will be held in Meadors Funeral Home, 304 E. Drive St., Clever, MO: visitation on Monday, August 7 at 5:30-7:30 pm.; funeral on Tuesday, August 8 at 10:30 am. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery, south of Clever. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Union Ridge Cemetery, in care of Dwight Gilmore, 553 Richwood School House Road, Clever, MO 65631, or left at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff and administrators at The Manor at Elfindale, Haven Hospice, and Assisting Aging Parents, for their assistance during this difficult time.

Service Details: The visitation will be 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. Monday, August 7th and the funeral will be at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 8th, in Meadors Funeral Home, 304 E.
