EMMA OMA GROVES Tuesday, October 10, 1922 - Saturday, April 15, 2017

Emma Oma Groves, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 10, 1922, in Billings, Missouri, to Walter and Lula (McConnell) Luezinger. She was united in marriage on August 29, 1942 to Jack B. Groves, in Springfield.

Jack and Emma lived in Springfield until returning to the family farm in 1954, where she enjoyed gardening and trail rides with Jack, spanning several years. These included the Trail of Tears, three years in a row, with grandkids in tow.

Emma farmed alongside her two sons for 52 years, until going to the Ozarks Methodist Manor, in 2006.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Lonnie and Donna, and Darrell and Judy; five grandkids and their spouses, Wynn and Jenna, Todd and Sheila, Brad and Gail, all of Billings. Jennifer and Danny, of Marionville, and Jeremy and Pam, of Billings; eight great grandkids, three great great grandkids; and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a visitation 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017, in Meadors Funeral Home, Billings chapel. The graveside service will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield

Aunt Emma, we loved you all of our lives!  You have been a rock in our family and memories! Groves Family, we would have loved to be there to celebrate Aunt Emma's life.  We just could not get there today, but please know our thoughts and prayers were close to you.  Love and prayers to all~

I grew up hearing stories about Emma from Mom. She was such a sweet lady and will be missed. I'm so sorry.
