GERALDINE MARIE HOWELL Tuesday, August 3, 1937 - Thursday, July 27, 2017

Geraldine M. Howell (Baragary) passed away at the age of 79 on July 27, 2017, at her home in Billings, MO. A longtime resident of Republic, she is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Geraldine was born in Leavenworth, Kansas and was preceded in death by her husband John Howell, parents, and three siblings.

Geraldine was an LPN, working in the Head Start program and passionately providing breast cancer awareness as a survivor herself. “Grandma Geri,” as the grandkids called her, opened her heart and home to family and loved spoiling her pets. Known for her sense of humor, feisty personality, and generous spirit, she will be missed dearly.

Visitation is set for Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. A graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Republic at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

It was always so much fun when great aunt Geraldine, John, and family from Missouri would visit Mary Ann and Eddie and family from Kansas.  I will remember those times fondly.  Geraldine's personality was just awesome.  There aren't many people that I know who can pick right up where you left off the next time you see and talk with them.  Very special.
Geraldine was always a positive person and very feisty and full of life.  Anytime she came in to see us at Boatmen's Bank or THE BANK, she was always full of life advice and how we might improve our service to our customers.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and was enjoyed by all that knew her.  She certainly passed on her great work ethic and quick witt to her daughter Karen Forgey one of the best people I have ever known.
