HENRY CURTIS "HANK" WHITLOW Tuesday, February 20, 1940 - Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Mr. Henry Curtis “Hank” Whitlow, age 77, of Billings, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan (Smith); his three loving children: two daughters, Tammy Henry and husband Kendall of Billings, Missouri, and Twajana Moss and husband Ira of Richland, Missouri, and a son, Curtis Whitlow and wife Lisa of Republic, Missouri; 11 grandchildren: Megan and Jordan Evans, Dylan and Jake Henry, Morgan, McKenzie, Miranda and Mallory Moss, Caleb and Caitlin Griffin; and Brynlee Whitlow; and two great grandchildren, Lane and Sophia Evans.

He was born February 20, 1940 and was raised on a farm near Pilot Grove, Missouri. He was the son of Henry and Nellie (Mercer) Whitlow. Hank was a Navy Veteran and served his country proudly. He worked and retired from Frisco Railroad. He owned and operated Roadrunner Trucking Company for several years. He was a member of the Breakfast Optimist Club and the Masons in Billings. Hank and Jan then settled down to farming and raising cattle. His hobbies included reading Westerns and working with his cattle. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending their sports activities.

Survivors also include sisters, Lois Cramer, Independence, Missouri, Jean Link, Springfield, Missouri, Kathryn Ross, Republic, Missouri, Laura Hamilton (Howard) O’Fallon, Illinois, Marilyn Franz (Calvin) Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; brothers, Donald Whitlow, Basehor, Kansas and Charles Whitlow (Velva) Republic, Missouri; and Ruth Smith, mother-in-law, Galena, Missouri.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tiffany Whitlow; and a sister, Dorothy Hickam; brothers-in-law, Arnold Ross, Duane Link, and Harvey Cramer; sister-in-law, Annette Whitlow; and father-in-law, George Smith.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017 in Meadors Funeral Home, 101 NE Pine, Billings, MO 65610. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill West Cemetery, Billings.
