JAMES HARLAN LANGLEY Monday, January 18, 1932 - Thursday, April 27, 2017

JAMES HARLAN LANGLEY, age 85, Republic, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, in the Missouri Veterans Home, Mount Vernon, Missouri, where he had been a resident four and one half years. He was born January 18, 1932, in Easton, KS, the son of Earl and Agnes (Frazier) Langley. They preceded Jim in death.

Jim is survived by his wife Delores Langley, Republic, MO; two children, Cindy Collier, Springfield, MO, and Jerry Langley and wife Sheila, Jacksonville, FL; two grandsons, Oliver and Lewis Langley; a brother, Norman (Pat) Langley, Chandler, AZ, and their children; a sister, Doris Adamson, McKinney, TX, and her children; a brother in law, Earl (Pat) Domann, Easton, KS, and his children.

Jim married Delores Domann on August 18, 1956, in Easton, KS. He served in the U.S. Air Force three and ½ years and was employed by the Bureau of Prisons for 27 years. He was a long time member of the St. Joseph Catholic, Billings, MO.

Jim and Delores loved to travel. After retirement, he built many home built airplanes and was also a private pilot. They wintered in Lakeland, FL and volunteered for Sun ‘n Fun, and the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, WI for 28 years.

A special thanks to the extended family at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO for all the love and care provided to James Harlan Langley and his family.

There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic Chapel. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Billings, MO. Burial, with military honors, will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church

I worked with Jim at Sun 'n Fun for several years and he was the most pleasant person I have ever met. Always there to help anyone who needed it. Never a bad word about anyone. The world needs more men like Jim. He will be missed. Our condolences to Delores and Family Fred & Rachel Armani

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Jim and Delores were really part of our Pioneer family and have been missed these past several years. Love and prayers to Delores and the rest of the family.
We remember Jim and Delores as an important part of our Sun 'n Fun Pioneer family. Have missed them both for awhile now. We will think of Jim as he travels on his last flight West.  Bless you Jim and love to Delores.
