SANDY WILLIAMS Saturday, September 8, 1945 - Tuesday, March 28, 2017
Sandra Wannell “Sandy” Gibbons Williams, age 71, was born in Edinburg, Texas on September 8, 1945. She went to meet her Lord, Jesus Christ on March 28, 2017 while staying at Brookhaven Health Care facility in Springfield, Missouri.
Sandy was married to David Williams of Republic, Missouri, where they resided and enjoyed their lives together.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Irwin Gibbons, whom she had two children with, Clifford Gibbons (Kelli) of San Antonio, Texas and Jamie Keys (Tim) of Springfield, Missouri. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Nicky Fellows (Brad), Kinzie Keys, Lela Grace Gibbons and Matheus Irwin Gibbons; and her great grandson Blazzlee Irwin Mathews.
Sandy was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Odessa Lambert; a sister, Wanda Johnson; and her in- laws, James and Lorene Gibbons.
She is also survived by a sister, Linda Britt; a brother, Jim Lambert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandy was an incredible woman; she loved to work with kids. She was a 4-H leader for 20+ years and during that time she worked with the FFA students as well. She and her husband Irwin raised show pigs for the livestock shows for all the kids all over the Valley in South Texas. She loved to cook and was always volunteering to raise money for the kids and their projects. Sandy physically had two children but looking at her life she had numerous children that called her MOM. Sandy also coached girls’ softball for many years and played softball alongside her daughter for 15+ years. She was loved by so many.
Sandy loved all sorts of things, she was a cook by trade and she was a GREAT cook, she loved to work leather, and play card games. She loved the outdoors, going fishing, camping, and floating the river. She loved life and doing incredible things with incredible people. Sandy also enjoyed craft shows, the livestock shows and loved her western books.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the First Church Nazarene, 1003 E. Harrison St, in Republic. Online condolences may be shared on this website.
